Tozuntu, Cappadocia '19

Nevşehir Guest Artist Program took place between 28 September - 5 October 2019. The program manager, artist Aydın Teker, was accompanied by Pınar Özer, Fırat Kuşçu and M. Metehan Kayan, who were selected as participating guest artists as a result of the open call. In addition, artists Gamze Güleç, Yağmur Telli Yücel, Can Sümbül and Fatih Çankaya, who participated from Nevşehir, made various contributions to the process. Musician Nick Rothwell was the guest of the artist-in-residence program from London.

Artists from different disciplines, working from early morning until late at night throughout the process, prepared a performance called "Tozuntu" within a week. Printed posters and flyers were distributed in Avanos and Ortahisar districts. For the performance, Ortahisar Municipality provided voice announcement support in the district for a total of three days, including the day of the performance and the two days before it. The performance was announced within the local artists' own communication networks. A group of approximately seventy people from Nevşehir watched the public space performance performed in the cave at the entrance of Ortahisar Castle on October 4 with great interest.
